Life Can’t Be Captured in a Quote

I shared a lot of posts in the last two months—daily, in fact. And yes, I believe in them. But not fully. Not unconditionally.
Quotes are great for capturing emotions and summarizing ideas, but life is never that simple.
Take the saying, “People don’t leave jobs, they leave managers.” It’s a powerful statement, and it’s true—sometimes. But not always. I’ve left jobs not because of bad managers, but because I needed better pay. My leaders were great, but my financial reality was greater.
We like simple explanations—snappy quotes, viral headlines, or political soundbites that confirm what we already believe. But reality is more complicated.
So, the next time a quote or a headline grabs your attention, pause. Dig deeper. Because life isn’t black and white, and the truth is always more than just a few well-crafted words.
