Overthinking—yep, I do that a lot.

I analyze every scenario, every possible reaction, and every potential outcome. I want things to go smoothly. I want everyone on board. I want to minimize risk.

And while that mindset has its benefits, it also holds me back. It makes me hesitant to experiment—at least when others are involved.

That’s why this simple exchange from The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse sticks with me:

B: I can’t see a way through.
H: Can you see your next step?
B: Yeah.
H: Then just take that.

I don’t have to see the whole path. I just need to take the next step.
